ADARE MANOR
Situated within 840 acres of rolling countryside, Adare Golf Course is ranked amongst the best of the golf courses designed by the world-renowned Robert Trent Jones Sr.
The front nine is anchored by two man-made lakes, while corridors of majestic trees and the famed River Maigue combine to make the homeward nine the finest on any course you will ever play. This testing golf course, coupled with superb greens, has elevated Adare Golf Club to one of the really great Irish Courses. Adare Manor has played host to many great tournaments including the Irish Open in 2007 & 2008.
BALLYBUNION OLD
Ballybunion Golf Club is located on the north west coast of County Kerry, on a beautiful stretch of sand dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The Old Course exudes a majestic feel that simply cannot be compared to any other course on earth. With beautifully contoured fairways that tumble down through a blanket of grassy dunes, it’s no wonder these challenging holes have been consistently rated among the top courses in the world so make sure you play here on you Irish golf vacation.
BALLYBUNION CASHEN
Robert Trent Jones designed the Cashen Course and he considered it to be one of his masterpieces.
The views are more dramatic, the dunes bigger, the greens more undulating, and the valleys deeper at the Cashen Course than the Ballybunion Old Course.
Many golfers will report that the long carries make this course more of a golfing challenge than its more well-known ‘big sister’, the Old Course. Opened for play in 1982, the Cashen Course is located along the sweeping, undisturbed Atlantic shoreline.
DOOKS GOLF LINKS
Golf has been played on the links at Dooks since 1889, and this traditional Irish links course has breathtaking scenery as well as being a test of accurate golf.
Set on three stretches of dunes, there are beautiful views out to the Rossbeigh and Inch peninsulas, Macgillycuddy’s Reeks, and the Slieve Mish and Dingle mountains. The members are renowned for their friendliness and hospitality to visitors. Dooks is a great choice for an extra round of golf while staying in the Kerry area.
FOTA ISLAND GOLF CLUB
There are 3 courses at Fota Island: The Belvelley, The Barryscourt and The Deerpark, which is the championship course.
Receptive greens and strategic bunkering are the main features on The Deerpark course, which has hosted the Irish Open. The Belvelly course includes a new 9-hole layout developed by Jeff Howes and opened in the summer of 2007. The Barryscourt course also incorporates a new nine-hole layout, characterised by gently undulating greens.
